The End of Anne Draft
Memories of a time long past are displayed in memoriam of a young woman who lost her life in her beloved garden. Murdered in cold blood by an enraged fiancé, the end of Anne was tragic and quick. Objects from her vibrant life tell a story of an educated, talented, and spirited teenager who cherished every moment and was beloved by her late father, William, and her Aunt Lucille.
Promise Delivered by Su Jackson. Made of copper, brass, and raw amethyst.
An amethyst ring that was a gift on her 16th birthday, a well-played cello that filled her garden with music, a fanciful dress that she only wore during her private concerts. These items along with other metalwork, sculpture, and drawings present Anne, her family, and their treasured home through the lens of artwork and written narrative.
The story unfolds online on November 27, 2023. Read the entire narrative after the exhibition opens.
The End of Anne exhibit will run from 11.27.23 through 12.15.23 in the Chalmers building located on The University of Kansas campus in Lawrence.
